How to fight against mosquitoes

 

CHECK:

  1. GUTTERS
    • Are the gutters easily clogged with leaves and dross?
    • Are all the gutters and downspouts clean and functional?
    • Does the water accumulate in puddles under the downspouts?
  2. COURTYARDS, LAWNS AND GARDENS
    • Are there trees in the courtyard which can accumulate water?
    • Is your grass cut and the shrubs pruned?
    • Are there any holes in which water can accumulate after the rain?
    • Are all the drains and canals clean?
  3. FOUNTAINS
    • If there is standing water in the fountain, change it every 3 or 4 days.
  4. POTS AND GARDEN DECORATION
    • Does the water accumulate in pot saucers?
    • Does the water accumulate on the garden decorations?
    • Do you regularly dispose the water that accumulates in those spots?
  5. CONTAINERS FOR PETS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS
    • Have you got containers for pets or domestic animals in the yard?
    • Do you change the water on a daily basis?
  6. TRASH CANS
    • Are there any holes on the bottom of the can that prevent the water from accumulating?
    • Do you keep the cans clean?
  7. BARRELS, BARBECUE GRILL COVERS, TOYS AND UNCOVERED BOATS 
    • Which objects in your yard can accumulate little water after the rain or lawn watering?
    • Do you regularly dispose that water?
    • Do you change the water in children swimming-pools every 3 to 4 days?
  8. COURTYARD FOUNTAINS
    • Is there any water accumulating under the courtyard fountains?
    • Is there any water in containers under the fountains?
  9. MANHOLES AND DRAINAGE CANALS
    • Are the manholes in the yard tightly closed?
    • Are the drainage canals cleared?
  10. BASEMENTS
    • Is there any water accumulating in the basement?

·         Uncut lawn

·         Clogged gutters

·         Residual water in the attic

·         Ponds with stagnant water

·         Swimming-pool covers

·         Children swimming-pools

·         Puddles and uneven ground

·         Fountains

·         Faulty faucets

·         Manholes

·         Open trash cans, old tires, carts

REMEMBER: One can, little water and only a few days is necessary for reproducing over 200 new pests from only one mosquito!
